TAGI Logistics Powers Vĩnh Tân 2 Thermal Plant with Heavy-Lift Logistics Expertise
In one of its early large-scale industrial projects, TAGI Logistics successfully delivered critical components for the Vĩnh Tân 2 Thermal Power Plant in Bình Thuận, Vietnam, working with global EPC contractor Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited. The project involved the transport of massive 35-meter boilers weighing 363 tons and 42-meter girders weighing 130 tons, requiring complex multimodal logistics solutions.
Executed on December 20, 2017, this milestone project showcased TAGI’s early capabilities in managing high-risk, oversized cargo for Vietnam’s power infrastructure development.
The project required TAGI Logistics to execute a seamless multimodal transport solution, starting from barging the oversized components from port to near-site access points along the southern coastline. These moves required tide-aware scheduling, careful port coordination, and risk assessments to ensure the stability and safety of the cargo throughout the marine phase.
End-to-End Heavy Cargo Execution
Upon arrival, TAGI deployed roll-off operations using self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) and hydraulic platforms to safely discharge the massive boilers and girders from the barges onto land. This phase demanded precise maneuvering, load balancing, and rigorous structural checks on temporary roll-off ramps and surfaces.

The final leg involved inland trucking using specialized multi-axle trailers to deliver the components directly to the installation zone within the Vĩnh Tân 2 facility. Given the exceptional weight and length of the cargo, TAGI coordinated with local authorities for road permits, traffic control, and escort services, ensuring zero disruptions and on-time delivery.
