TAGI Logistics Delivers 345-Ton Generator and Transformer for Vĩnh Tân 4 Extension Project
In one of its most technically demanding early projects, TAGI Logistics successfully executed the transport of a 345-ton generator and a 345-ton transformer for the Vĩnh Tân 4 Extension Thermal Power Plant in Bình Thuận, Vietnam. Commissioned by global logistics contractor Kwangjin TLS, the project required full-service support — including barging, roll-off operations, and inland heavy haul transport.
Completed on November 1, 2017, this complex heavy-lift operation showcased TAGI’s strength in delivering ultra-heavy industrial cargo safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Challenging Operation on Vietnam’s Southern Coast
The journey began with barging operations, where TAGI coordinated the safe loading and maritime transport of the massive generator and transformer units. Given the weight and sensitivity of the equipment, TAGI implemented advanced load distribution plans and worked with barge operators to ensure secure navigation through coastal waters to the project’s landing site.
Tide conditions, vessel integrity, and route planning were all meticulously managed to mitigate risks and maintain schedule accuracy.

Upon arrival at the shore, TAGI conducted roll-off operations using self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) and hydraulic jacking systems. The roll-off site was specially reinforced to support the extreme load, and all movements were monitored in real time to ensure perfect balance and control.
The operation required perfect synchronization between marine and land crews, with zero room for error — a challenge that TAGI met with technical skill and teamwork.
The final leg involved heavy-duty inland transport of both units to the construction site within the Vĩnh Tân 4 power complex. TAGI employed custom multi-axle trailers, load spreaders, and escorted convoy coordination to navigate through provincial roads. Every element — from turning radius to bridge capacity — was calculated and tested in advance.
Thanks to careful planning and execution, TAGI delivered both the generator and transformer safely, without incident or delay.
